Import an old tracker

Bring grants in from any tab of the spreadsheet, such as an old tracker copied in from another file.

Get the old tracker into your copy

Open the old spreadsheet, right-click its tab, choose Copy to > Existing spreadsheet and pick your Grant Tracker copy. For an Excel file, upload it to Google Drive and open it with Google Sheets first.

Import

  1. Open Extensions > Tidyfield Grant Tracker > Import from another tab.
  2. Pick the tab and the header row.
  3. Check the column matches. Grant Tracker suggests them from the headers (for example "Funder Name", "Ask", "Status", "Deadline"); change any you like.
  4. Match your statuses to stages, for example "Pending" to Submitted and "Funded" to Awarded.
  5. Preview, then import.
  • Date columns such as an application or final report due date become deadlines. Past deadline dates are imported as Done.
  • Dates and amounts are read the way people type them ("$25,000", "40k", "03/04/2026" by the spreadsheet's locale).
  • Rows whose funder and opportunity are already in the tracker are skipped, so importing twice does not duplicate anything.
  • The old tab is not changed. Up to 3,000 rows at a time.
